  12. INSTALLING CodeBlocker 
  13. -----------------------
  14. The CodeBlocker package includes a graphical Windows
  15. installation program.  Copy or unzip the set of files
  16. that accompany this README.TXT file to a floppy diskette
  17. or into a temporary folder.  Then run the SETUP program
  18. from the diskette or temporary folder.
  19. After installation, run the program to complete installation procedure.

  23. You can uninstall the program using Control Panel.

  28. REGISTRATION

  30. CodeBlocker is not free software.  It is released as
  31. shareware, which provides the opportunity for the program
  32. to be evaluated before it is purchased.

  34. We hope that when you try CodeBlocker you will like it so
  35. much that you will want to register.  By doing so you are
  36. voting with your pocketbook for us to continue developing
  37. high-quality, Windows programming tools shareware.

  39. Complete information on how to register CodeBlocker is
  40. included in the REGISTER.RTF file.  You can view and print
  41. the file from any text editor that understands Rich Text
  42. Format such as Windows Wordpad or MS Word.  CodeBlocker
  43. Setup installs a start menu entry titled CodeBlocker
  44. Registration Form that allows you to access the form from
  45. your Start menu.

  51.  SOFTWARE LICENSE
  52.  
  53.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
  54.  CodeBlocker on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of
  55.  determining whether CodeBlocker is suitable for their
  56.  needs.  The use of CodeBlocker, except for the initial
  57.  30-day trial, requires registration.  The use of
  58.  unlicensed copies of CodeBlocker, outside of the initial
  59.  30-day trial, by any person, business, corporation,
  60.  government agency or any other entity is strictly
  61.  prohibited.

  63.  A license for personal use may be purchased that grants
  64.  thea user the right to use CodeBlocker on one or more
  65.  computers.  A commercial license requires sufficient
  66.  licensing equal to the number of users, or the quantity
  67.  of workstations that access the software, whichever is
  68.  smaller.
  69.  
  70.  No one may modify or patch the CodeBlocker executable files
  71.  in any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
  72.  disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
  73.  programs.

  75.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
  76.  CodeBlocker only for the trial use of others, subject
  77.  to the above limitations, and also the following:
  78.  
  79.   1)    CodeBlocker and all of its release files must be
  80.         copied in unmodified form, complete with the file
  81.         containing this license information.

  83.   2)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
  84.         or accepted, except as authorized below:

  86.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
  87.            (sysops) may make CodeBlocker available for down-
  88.            loading only as long as the above conditions are
  89.            met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  90.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
  91.            long as there is not a specific charge for the
  92.            download of CodeBlocker.

  94.         B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
  95.            approved by the ASP may distribute CodeBlocker,
  96.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  97.            permission.  Non-approved vendors may distribute
  98.            CodeBlocker only after obtaining written
  99.            permission from Winchester Soft.  Such permission
  100.            is usually granted.  Please write for details
  101.            (enclose your catalog).

  103.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
  104.            the CodeBlocker diskette to their members,
  105.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  106.            permission.  Non-profit groups may collect a disk
  107.            duplication fee not to exceed five dollars.

  109.   LIMITED WARRANTY

  111.   Winchester Soft warrants that all disks provided are
  112.   free from defects in material and workmanship, assuming
  113.   normal use, for a period of 90 days from the date of
  114.   purchase.

  116.   Winchester Soft warrants that the program will perform
  117.   in substantial compliance with the documentation supplied
  118.   with the software product.  If a significant defect in
  119.   the product is found, the Purchaser may return the
  120.   product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund
  121.   exceed the purchase price of the product.

  123.   EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, WINCHESTER SOFT DISCLAIMS ALL
  124.   WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
  125.   LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
  126.   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE
  127.   PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE
  128.   PURCHASER ASSUMES THE RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF
  129.   ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION AND ANY
  130.   INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL
  131.   WINCHESTER SOFT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER
  132.   (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF
  133.   BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS
  134.   INFORMATION AND THE LIKE) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR THE
  135.   INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT EVEN IF WINCHESTER SOFT
  136.   HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  138.   Use of this product for any period of time constitutes
  139.   your acceptance of this agreement and subjects you to its
  140.   contents.
